In this video I will show you how you can upgrade your hard drive based Sony camcorder. Its very simple and takes only 10 minutes. In the video, I am upgrading my Sony HDR-SR10 camcorder that has a 40GB hard drive, which is about 5 hours of video on highest quality setting. I am swapping out the drive for a 80GB drive (About 10 hours of recording!) All you need to purchase is a Toshiba ZIF type hard drive (The same drives they use in iPod Classic).

Sony CX550 HDR-CX550V Camcorder Unboxing

This is my new camcorder the sony cx550, hdr-cx550v or cx550v. It is the smaller version of the sony xr550, hdr-xr550v or xr550v. :) This is the 2010 version of the sony xr520 (hdr-xr520v) and the xr500 (hdr-xr500v) I purchased this HD camorder over the Canon and panaosnic Version BEcause: Canon s21: Just for brand preferrence and Design. Both are similar and shoot 1080i. Both qualiy looks excellent! Canon is little more expensive though Panasonic tm700: It shoot 1080p (FULL HD) but most softwares are not compatible with 1080p and cant support it. (ex: Imovie 09, movie maker, etc.) + I didnt like the deisng and theres a fan that makes a little bit of a subtle noise in the background while filming.
